Yes, apparently if this long (and sometimes incomprehensible) test can be believed, I am that scary monster of the political scene, A liberal!!! )

Hi, yeah, I'm still alive. Took a three week vacation with two weeks in the Philippines. Hear about it on my blog where I talked about what I learned (or had reaffirmed). See some (less than 10%) of the pictures we took over on flickr.

Went without computers for two whole weeks. Horrors! Still haven't gotten back into the swing of updating my various and sundry websites.

My boss today in our weekly one-on-one meeting asked me if I had any plans for the weekend. When I mentioned that I was just going to hang some book shelves for my sister-in-law, he shared that this gave him a flashback to the scene in 40 Year Old Virgin where Steve Carell's character describes the making of an egg-salad sandwich in excrutiating detail.

(I didn't mention that I had made an egg-salad sandwich for my dinner last night. Here I explain in excrutiating detail (with many parentheticals) the making of _my_ sandwich ))

Actually, I'm kind of looking forward to hanging shelves for R. Here I explain in (slightly-less-)excrutiating detail (with (not quite as) many parentheticals) the actions I expect to be required to hang R's shelves (There'd be more detail, but I haven't done it yet.) )

There's some pleasure to be had in being in the moment enough to enjoy the pleasant nuances of seemingly mundane activities. At least I think so.
