I've been in one of those moods lately where about all I want to do is read my friendslist, my bloglines queue, and my inbox, and (when I'm not at work) repeatedly reload Toothpaste for Dinner's LJ picture thing (probably NSFW, definitely not conducive to getting work done).

This isn't exactly a new pattern for me, in fact it's as old as I can remember. Process input until input is gone.

I was reminded of this lingering addiction when, after flipping through my gmail, bloglines, and lj tabs and finding nothing new, some part of my brain popped up and said "nn!". Which was my preferred delivery method for that virtually never-ending source of input: Usenet. Thing is, I haven't read Usenet regularly for at least ten years and haven't used nn for probably 15. Bad brain! Get back to work!
