I've had a hemorrhoid making my life miserable for the past few weeks. (Yes, this has become a blog of woe. Sorry.)
There's a 50/50 chance that at some point you'll have one too.
I recommend prevention. Apparently the medical community isn't kidding about that whole fiber thing.
Anyway, today I went to a specialist to get some relief and indeed he was able to do things (which I won't detail) that fixed things up at least temporarily. He sent me home with a prescription for Vicodin and orders to stay relatively horizontal.
I did that, but I got hungry. Achalasia doesn't make food and horizontal go together. At all. So I was standing at the kitchen counter eating a little lunch and the combination of digestion calling for more blood flow, the Vicodin, the fact I hadn't eaten anything yet, some blood loss, and spending the past couple hours horizontal conspired to make me light headed.
I fainted. And fell down.
So now along with sore nethers I also have a sprained ankle.
Prevention. Definitely the way to go.
