First the test...
( behind the cut since it's dull )
B wasn't feeling well on Friday night so I got put in charge of distributing candy. I figured I'd take pictures of the kids in their costumes so B could see them and just because I like taking pictures of stuff and I figured I could send the pictures of the kids we know to their parents so they could have a picture from the other side of the transaction.
That was going great. I'd pull the door open and while they were hollering "trick or treat!" at me I'd snap their picture with flash and everything. Most people seemed to find this amusing. Then they'd get their candy and go on to the next house.
Then after a few groups I didn't know, an adult guy came to the door alone looking a little sheepish and told me that "a couple of the moms" were uncomfortable with the pictures. I'm a nice guy and I want people to be happy so I offered to delete the pictures that were bothering them if they wanted to come up to the door (I couldn't see anyone out there, it was dark) but the dude seemed reluctant to send them up and pointed out the ones himself and I nuked them while he watched. I figured that was the end of it. (cue ominous music.)
Took some more pictures, gave out more candy. Then there was a dry stretch for a while and then this gentleman showed up at the door:

Whoever it was called the cops on me! WTF? ( conversation with cop and other reaction behind the cut )
On Saturday I sent copies of the pics of my neighbors' kids to them in email (yes, I had all their addresses.) They all seemed delighted to have them. One even told me she made it the desktop picture on their computer. That reaction made me feel a lot better.
Tomorrow we'll fill out our ballots. Tuesday I'll take them to the polls and stick them in the ballot box and hopefully Wednesday we'll celebrate. Go you and do likewise.
